Maurisa S. Coleman
I was born a daughter of the sand, sea and sun, the home of Carnival and the nation of multiculturalism, Trinidad and Tobago. I lived much of my life in London, the capital of business, the greatest city in the world as far as I am concerned. I currently work in the House of Commons in service of this great country that gave me a home and opportunities I didn’t know I could have. I love both countries equally, and equally they both made me.
Mimi Harker OBE
Mimi has been a local Councillor since 1999. She served as a Cabinet Member for 9 years, as Mayor of Amersham for two years and as the Chairman of the District for two years. Mimi is recognised for her service to the community. For this work and her contribution to the Equalities Act 2010, she received the OBE from Her Majesty, The Queen.
Her campaigning created the 12A film certification for the first Spiderman film; this gave parents more say on what their children could view at the cinema, and she helped a special education needs school raise the funds for their new media centre!
